One thing I definitely learned in my Financial Reporting & Controls class this semester is that there's a lot of grey area in accounting. For example, if a company's being sued, and they're likely to owe money, they need to estimate the future loss and carry that liability on their books. Who estimates the loss? That's not an exact science. This is just one example of tough calls in accounting.
Well, I've written before about my pledge to not drink soda, & about how I drink club soda as a replacement. Well, can I keep my pledge if I drink FLAVORED club soda? Tricky grey area. I say yes, but only if I determine that the beverage is closer to seltzer wate than soda.
